Quentin Jerome Tarantino is an American filmmaker, screenwriter, and actor, born on March 27, 1963, in Knoxville, Tennessee. He grew up in Los Angeles, California, where he dropped out of high school at age 16 to pursue his passion for filmmaking.
Tarantino started his career in the film industry as a clerk at a video rental store. He wrote and directed his first feature film, “Reservoir Dogs,” in 1992, which received critical acclaim and established him as a major player in the independent film scene. He followed it up with the hugely successful “Pulp Fiction” in 1994, which won the Palme d’Or at the Cannes Film Festival and earned Tarantino an Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay.
