James Coburn (1928–2002) was an acclaimed American actor known for his rugged charm, distinctive voice, and performances in action, drama, and comedy films. Born on August 31, 1928, in Laurel, Nebraska, Coburn began his acting career in television and made his film debut in Ride Lonesome (1959).
He gained widespread recognition for his roles in The Magnificent Seven (1960) and The Great Escape (1963), establishing himself as a talented supporting actor and action star. He later became famous for playing the sophisticated secret agent Derek Flint in Our Man Flint (1966) and its sequel.
