Ronny Jackson is a retired United States Navy Rear Admiral and physician who served as the White House Physician under Presidents George W. Bush, Barack Obama, and briefly under Donald Trump.
Born on May 4, 1967, in Levelland, Texas, Jackson graduated from Texas A&M University with a Bachelor of Science degree and attended medical school at the University of Texas Medical Branch. He joined the Navy in 1995 and served as a flight surgeon, eventually rising to the rank of Rear Admiral.
Jackson gained public attention during his tenure as the White House Physician, where he conducted medical examinations of Presidents and provided healthcare to White House staff. In 2018, he was nominated by President Trump to serve as the Secretary of Veterans Affairs but withdrew his nomination amid controversy. He later ran for Congress in Texas but was unsuccessful.
