Kaká, whose full name is Ricardo Izecson dos Santos Leite, is a retired Brazilian professional footballer born on April 22, 1982, in Brasília, Brazil. He is widely regarded as one of the greatest midfielders of his generation.
Kaká began his professional football career with São Paulo FC in Brazil before moving to AC Milan in 2003. At Milan, he established himself as a key player, winning the Serie A title, the UEFA Champions League, and the FIFA Club World Cup. His impressive performances earned him the FIFA World Player of the Year award in 2007, making him the last player to win the award before the merge with the Ballon d’Or.
In 2009, Kaká transferred to Real Madrid for a then-world record transfer fee of €65 million. Despite facing injuries during his time in Madrid, he still managed to contribute significantly to the team’s success, winning La Liga, Copa del Rey, and the UEFA Champions League.
Kaká also represented the Brazilian national team, winning the FIFA World Cup in 2002 and the FIFA Confederations Cup in 2005 and 2009. He retired from professional football in 2017 after a brief stint with Orlando City SC in Major League Soccer. Off the pitch, Kaká is known for his philanthropic work and his strong Christian faith.
