Kevin James (born April 26, 1965, in Mineola, New York) is an American actor, comedian, and producer best known for his relatable humor and roles in television and film. Raised on Long Island, he initially pursued sports, particularly wrestling, before shifting his focus to stand-up comedy.
James rose to fame starring as Doug Heffernan in the hit sitcom The King of Queens (1998–2007), where his comedic timing and chemistry with co-star Leah Remini made the show widely popular.
