Twinkle Khanna, born on December 29, 1973, in Pune, India, is a celebrated author, columnist, film producer, and former actress. She is the daughter of iconic Bollywood stars Rajesh Khanna and Dimple Kapadia. Twinkle made her acting debut in 1995 with the film Barsaat, which earned her the Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut. She went on to star in several movies, including Jab Pyaar Kisise Hota Hai and Baadshah, before stepping away from acting in 2001.
After leaving the film industry, Twinkle found her true calling in writing and design. Her debut book, Mrs Funnybones (2015), a witty collection of observations on modern Indian life, became a bestseller and established her as a prominent literary voice. She followed it up with The Legend of Lakshmi Prasad (2016), a collection of short stories, and the critically acclaimed novel Pyjamas Are Forgiving (2018).
Twinkle is also a successful interior designer and co-owner of The White Window, a home décor store in Mumbai. Married to Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar, the couple has two children, Aarav and Nitara.
