William Jackson Harper, born on February 8, 1980, is an American actor best known for his role as Chidi Anagonye on the critically acclaimed NBC series The Good Place (2016–2020). His portrayal of the anxious, philosophy-loving professor earned him widespread recognition and an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series.
Harper began his acting career in theater before transitioning to television and film. He appeared in shows like The Electric Company, Law & Order, and 30 Rock before landing his breakout role in The Good Place.
