2 Chainz, born Tauheed Epps on September 12, 1977, in College Park, Georgia, is a renowned American rapper, songwriter, and entrepreneur. He first gained fame as part of the Southern hip-hop duo Playaz Circle, alongside childhood friend Dolla Boy. The duo signed to Ludacris’ Disturbing tha Peace label and released the hit single “Duffle Bag Boy” in 2007, featuring Lil Wayne, which brought them widespread attention.
In 2011, Epps adopted the moniker 2 Chainz and embarked on a solo career. His debut studio album, Based on a T.R.U. Story (2012), debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 and included hit singles like “No Lie,” “Birthday Song,” and “I’m Different.” The album was certified platinum and solidified his place in mainstream hip-hop.
