Amber Tamblyn is an American actress, writer, and director, born on May 14, 1983, in Santa Monica, California. She is the daughter of actor Russ Tamblyn and singer Bonnie Murray Tamblyn. Tamblyn first gained recognition as Emily Quartermaine on the soap opera “General Hospital,” a role she played from 1995 to 2001. Her breakout role came in 2003 with the critically acclaimed television series “Joan of Arcadia,” where she starred as Joan Girardi, earning a Golden Globe nomination.
