Claire Foy is an English actress, born on April 16, 1984, in Stockport, Greater Manchester, England. She studied drama and screen studies at Liverpool John Moores University and then trained at the Oxford School of Drama.
Foy’s breakthrough role was in the BBC One miniseries “Little Dorrit” in 2008. She gained further recognition for her portrayal of Anne Boleyn in the BBC drama series “Wolf Hall” (2015) and as Queen Elizabeth II in the Netflix series “The Crown” (2016-2017). For her performance in “The Crown,” Foy won a Golden Globe Award and a Primetime Emmy Award.
Foy’s other notable film and television credits include “Season of the Witch” (2011), “Crossbones” (2014), “Upstairs Downstairs” (2010-2012), “The Girl in the Spider’s Web” (2018), and “First Man” (2018).
