Barry Van Dyke (born July 31, 1951, in Atlanta, Georgia) is an American actor best known for his role as Detective Lieutenant Steve Sloan on the television series Diagnosis: Murder, where he starred alongside his father, Dick Van Dyke.

Raised in Los Angeles, Barry made his television debut at the age of nine on The Dick Van Dyke Show, though he waited until after high school to pursue acting professionally. Over the years, he built a steady television career, appearing in shows such as Galactica 1980, The A-Team, Magnum, P.I., and Airwolf.

His collaboration with his father extended to the Murder 101 film series. Barry is also known for his work behind the camera, having directed and written several episodes of Diagnosis: Murder. He married Mary Carey in 1974, and they have four children, including Carey Van Dyke, who also works in entertainment. Barry continues to be admired for his contributions to family-friendly television.
