Benny Goodman (1909-1986) was an American jazz and swing musician, clarinetist, and bandleader, famously known as the “King of Swing.” Born in Chicago to Jewish immigrant parents, Goodman demonstrated extraordinary talent from a young age, joining the American Federation of Musicians at 14.
