Clinton Portis is a former American football running back who played in the NFL for nine seasons. Born on September 1, 1981, in Laurel, Mississippi, Portis gained prominence at the University of Miami, where he was part of the 2001 National Championship team.

Drafted by the Denver Broncos in the second round of the 2002 NFL Draft, Portis quickly made a name for himself with his explosive speed and vision.

After two seasons in Denver, where he rushed for over 1,500 yards each year, Portis was traded to the Washington Redskins in 2004. He continued his success, becoming one of the franchise’s all-time leading rushers.
