Daniel César Martín Brühl González (born June 16, 1978, Barcelona) is a bilingual Spanish‑German actor and filmmaker known for his impressive versatility. Raised in Cologne by a German TV director father and a Spanish mother, he grew up speaking German, Spanish, Catalan, English, French and Portuguese.
He gained fame with Good Bye, Lenin! (2003), winning both European and German Film Awards for his role as Alex Kerner. He made his Hollywood debut with The Bourne Ultimatum (2007), followed by an iconic performance as Nazi sniper Fredrick Zoller in Tarantino’s Inglourious Basterds (2009).
