Duncan Jones, born on May 30, 1971, is a British filmmaker known for his distinctive approach to science fiction. The son of legendary musician David Bowie and model Angela Barnett, Jones initially pursued a career in philosophy, earning a bachelor’s degree from the College of Wooster and a master’s degree from Vanderbilt University.

However, his passion for film led him to the London Film School, where he honed his directorial skills. Jones gained critical acclaim with his debut feature, “Moon” (2009), a thought-provoking sci-fi drama starring Sam Rockwell, which won a BAFTA for Outstanding Debut by a British Writer, Director, or Producer.

He followed this success with the mind-bending thriller “Source Code” (2011) and ventured into the world of high fantasy with “Warcraft” (2016). Jones continues to be a notable figure in contemporary cinema, blending complex narratives with a visually compelling style.
