Gabriel Batistuta (born February 1, 1969) is a retired Argentine footballer regarded as one of the greatest strikers of all time. Known for his powerful shots and clinical finishing, he was nicknamed Batigol and El Ángel Gabriel.

Batistuta began his professional career in Argentina before moving to Italy, where he became a legend at Fiorentina (1991–2000). He scored over 200 goals for the club, earning hero status despite their relegation and subsequent promotion. In 2000, he joined AS Roma, helping them win the Serie A title in 2001. He later played for Inter Milan and Al-Arabi before retiring in 2005.

Internationally, Batistuta was Argentina’s all-time top scorer until Lionel Messi surpassed him. He played in three World Cups (1994, 1998, 2002) and won two Copa América titles (1991, 1993). After retirement, he pursued business and farming, remaining a respected figure in world football.
