Johnnie Cochran (1937–2005) was a renowned American attorney, best known for defending O.J. Simpson in the 1995 murder trial. Born in Shreveport, Louisiana, and raised in Los Angeles, he earned his law degree from Loyola Marymount University.

Cochran initially worked in the Los Angeles City Attorney’s Office but soon gained a reputation as a defender of civil rights, taking on cases of police brutality and racial injustice.
