Katherine Heigl

Katherine Heigl is an American actress and producer, born on November 24, 1978, in Washington D.C. She began her acting career as a child, working as a model and appearing in commercials. Her breakthrough role came in 1999 when she was cast as Isabel Evans in the science-fiction TV series “Roswell”.

Heigl is best known for her role as Dr. Isobel “Izzie” Stevens in the medical drama “Grey’s Anatomy” (2005-2010), for which she won a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series in 2007. She also starred in several successful romantic comedies such as “Knocked Up” (2007), “27 Dresses” (2008), and “The Ugly Truth” (2009).

In addition to her acting career, Heigl has also worked as a producer, producing and starring in the TV series “State of Affairs” (2014-2015) and the films “The Big Wedding” (2013) and “Unforgettable” (2017).

Heigl has been married to musician Josh Kelley since 2007 and they have three children together. She is also known for her philanthropic work, particularly her efforts to raise awareness about animal welfare issues.
