Matt Dillon is an American actor and film director born on February 18, 1964, in New Rochelle, New York. Dillon began his acting career at the age of 14 when he was discovered by a talent scout while cutting class at Hommocks Middle School.
He made his feature film debut in 1979 in the movie “Over the Edge.” His breakthrough role came in 1983 in the movie “The Outsiders,” directed by Francis Ford Coppola.
Dillon went on to star in numerous successful films such as “Rumble Fish,” “Drugstore Cowboy,” “To Die For,” and “Crash,” for which he received an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actor.
In addition to his acting career, Dillon has also tried his hand at directing. He made his directorial debut in 2002 with the film “City of Ghosts,” which he also wrote and starred in.
