Naturi Cora Maria Naughton, born May 20, 1984, in East Orange, New Jersey, is an American singer, songwriter, and actress. She began singing at age five in the New Hope Baptist Church choir, the same church where Whitney Houston once performed.
At 15, she joined the R&B group 3LW, achieving platinum success with their debut album. After departing the group in 2002, Naughton transitioned to acting, portraying Lil’ Kim in Notorious (2009) and starring in Fame the same year. She gained widespread acclaim as Tasha St. Patrick in Starz’s Power and its spin-off Power Book II: Ghost, earning two NAACP Image Awards.
