Pete Maravich, known as “Pistol Pete,” was an American basketball player celebrated for his remarkable scoring ability and ball-handling skills. Born on June 22, 1947, in Aliquippa, Pennsylvania, Maravich was a prodigious talent who played college basketball at Louisiana State University (LSU).
At LSU, he set numerous NCAA records, including the highest scoring average in history, with 44.2 points per game. His flamboyant style and incredible shooting range captivated fans.
