Peter Davison, born Peter Malcolm Gordon Moffett on April 13, 1951, in Streatham, London, is a distinguished English actor. He gained prominence portraying the Fifth Doctor in the iconic British sci-fi series Doctor Who from 1981 to 1984.

Prior to this, he appeared in television dramas such as Love for Lydia (1977) and sitcoms including Holding the Fort (1980–82) and Sink or Swim (1980–82). Beyond Doctor Who, Davison starred as Tristan Farnon in All Creatures Great and Small (1978–1990) and Henry Sharpe in The Bill (2009–2010).

His extensive career encompasses stage performances and voice work, notably reprising his role as the Fifth Doctor in various audio dramas. Davison is married to actress and writer Elizabeth Morton, and they have two sons. His daughter from a previous marriage, Georgia Tennant, is also an actress and is married to actor David Tennant.​
