Rupert Friend (born October 9, 1981) is an English actor, director, and screenwriter known for his versatility on screen and stage. Born in Oxfordshire and raised in Gloucestershire, he studied acting at the Webber Douglas Academy of Dramatic Art in London.

Friend made his film debut in The Libertine (2004) opposite Johnny Depp, a performance that earned him early recognition. He went on to appear in films such as Pride & Prejudice (2005), The Young Victoria (2009), and Hitman: Agent 47 (2015).
