Kathleen Turner

Kathleen Turner is an American actress, born on June 19, 1954, in Springfield, Missouri. She began her career on stage, appearing in productions such as “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” and “The Sea Horse.”

In 1981, Turner made her film debut in the movie “Body Heat,” which launched her to stardom. She went on to star in a string of successful movies throughout the 1980s, including “Romancing the Stone,” “Prizzi’s Honor,” and “Peggy Sue Got Married.”

Turner also had success on stage, earning a Tony Award nomination for her role in the play “Cat on a Hot Tin Roof.” She has continued to act in film, television, and theater throughout her career.

In addition to her acting work, Turner is an activist and has been involved in various causes, including environmentalism and women’s rights. She also wrote a memoir, “Send Yourself Roses,” in 2008.
